How a high-gloss finish behaves
A high-gloss surface — in our range, the Super Gloss and Crystal Gloss finishes — reflects light. It makes a space feel brighter and larger, gives colours real depth, and reads as sleek and modern, which is why it is a favourite for feature walls, reflective kitchen cabinetry and statement pieces.
The trade-off is that a mirror-like surface shows fingerprints, smudges and fine surface marks more readily, so gloss is happiest where it is admired more than it is handled.
How matte and suede finishes behave
A matte or suede surface — our Super Matt and Suede finishes — does the opposite. It diffuses light instead of bouncing it, for a soft, low-glare, contemporary look, and it has a gentle tactile feel.
Crucially, it hides fingerprints and smudges far better than gloss, which makes it the practical choice for the surfaces that get touched all day: wardrobe shutters, bedroom furniture and high-contact cabinetry. It reads calm where gloss reads bright.
Which lasts and cleans better?
Both are the same high-pressure laminate underneath — the finish is the surface character, not the durability grade, and both are made to IS:2046-1995 Type S. In daily life the difference is visible smudging, not wear: gloss shows fingerprints and needs wiping more often to look its best, while matte and suede stay looking clean between cleans.
Both wipe down easily with a soft, damp cloth; neither should be cleaned with abrasive pads, which can dull a gloss and burnish a matte.

Which should you choose?
Choose by how a surface is used and how much light you want it to throw. Pick gloss where you want drama and brightness and the surface is not constantly handled — a feature wall, a reflective kitchen, an accent. Pick matte or suede where you want calm and easy upkeep on surfaces touched all day — wardrobes, bedroom furniture, busy cabinetry. Many rooms use both: a gloss accent against matte everywhere else.
